Mike lives in Wells next the Sea, is a retired postal worker and has been active in the local community for many years. He is involved with the Maltings Trust as a board member representing Wells Town Council, has been Town Councillor for 30 years and is active in the local political scene. Mike has recently joined Wells Action for Fair Trade as treasurer. He is involved in local affairs with a particular interest in housing, and has been an Involved Resident for many years.
Resident Vice Chair
Penny is a retired solicitor having worked for Capita Legal Services (initially Hambro) between 1998 and 2010, where she advised on mainly property and planning issues, but also boundary and neighbour disputes. Penny gained her qualification as a solicitor and also her Masters degree in Advanced Legal Practice at De Montfort University in Leicester, qualified as a Fellow of ILEX through distance learning through the Institute of Legal Executives and took the Legal Executive Course at Norwich City College.
Penny has been an involved resident with Victory since 2008 serving on various panels. As the Chair of the Residents’ Panel for the last 2 years (2016-2018), Penny has attended Board meetings regularly to maintain communication between the Residents’ Panel and the Board.
Philip was born in North Norfolk, educated at Paston Grammar School and gained a Geography degree from Southampton University. His professional career has been in local government, spanning housing, community services and corporate management, and he has been the Chief Executive of two district councils. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Housing and was previously a Board Member of Raglan Housing Association from 1997 to 2010. He chairs the Paston Community Project, a village initiative designed to transform the parish church into a community, educational and events space alongside continuing as a place of worship.
Rob worked as a partner with one of the ‘big 4’ accountancy firms for over 20 years, leading the public sector audit team for the South East of England. Rob has extensive experience and knowledge of a wide range of organisations including social housing, the police, local government and the NHS. A qualified accountant, he has detailed understanding of financial management and control.
Zoe lives in North Walsham and studied at UEA Norwich gaining an undergraduate degree and Masters in Economics. She is a project finance specialist, working primarily on public sector transactions to build, maintain and operate new community assets such as health centres, schools and social housing. Outside of work she enjoys yoga, travel and is a Norwich City season ticket holder.
Resident Board Member
Philip served as a member of the Residents’ Panel for 2 years before becoming a Board member. He brings a wealth of experience in Procurement and complimentary skills in IT, Quality Assurance and Health & Safety. He has had a varied history of employment culminating in training for 2 years as a fully qualified driving instructor and working in the role for a further 3 years.
Resident Board Member
Keith lives in North Walsham and is a Chartered Engineer working as the Compliance Manager for a Norfolk-based Engineering Construction contracting organisation, specialising in the fabrication and installation of industrial pipework. He served an Engineering Pipework Fabrication and Welding apprenticeship; later he graduated from the University of Sunderland, where he studied Education and Cranfield, where he gained MSc in Welding Engineering. He has been an actively involved resident since before stock transfer and has served on North Walsham Town Council, where he chaired the planning committee before becoming the Town Mayor. He also chaired and led the successful campaign to save North Walsham Hospital in 2007. When he is not working he likes: to help Victory improve its services for residents, walking around Norfolk and in the Cumbrian fells, music, films, swimming and eating out.
Steve is a Chartered Surveyor with over 35 years’ experience in the property market. He has extensive and varied property experience in the areas of development, valuation, property and strategic asset management, and project management in the private and public sectors. His previous roles have included Head of Asset Management for two local Councils, National Director for a multi disciplinary property services PLC, Partner at Richard Ellis In London (now CBRE), Assistant Director at Anglia Housing Group (now Circle Anglia) and Senior Estates Surveyor at Norwich Union (now Aviva). Steve is currently a Director and consultant having set up his own company providing strategic asset management and development advice. He lives near Dereham, and outside work enjoys playing tennis and fly fishing.
Stephen lives in Happisburgh where he is active in the local community and promotes Happisburgh Lighthouse to visitors. Stephen and his wife Denise are Directors of United for All Ages, a social enterprise bringing older and younger people together. Previously Stephen was chief executive of two national charities working for better care for older people and children, as well as being leader of a London council and vice-chair of a NHS Primary Care Trust. Currently Stephen is chair of Norfolk Family Mediation Service and a trustee of Leeway. He is a lay member and vice-chair of the governing body of North Norfolk NHS Clinical Commissioning Group and chairs its Finance and Performance Committee. Stephen joined the Board of Victory Housing Trust in 2012.
Resident Board Member
Joseph became a Board Member at the beginning of 2019, having served as an involved resident with Victory from 2012. He holds a City & Guilds in electronics design, took a local government accounting practice course and has a certificate in marketing through the Chartered Institute of Marketing. Joseph has many years of experience in the security and IT industry, and has also worked as an Industry Analyst in the IT area. Most recently he has provided social media and consultancy services to local businesses.
Outside of work Joe enjoys live music, provides PA for small events and festivals and helps with promotion. He is also proud to have gained a CSE in woodwork.
