  1. Am I responsible for the maintenance of an alteration that was made by the person who lived in my home before me?

    Victory properties are taken on as seen at the viewing. You would therefore be responsible for maintenance of alterations that have been made to the property.

  2. Can I carry out alterations or improvements to my property?

    Tenants may request permission to carry out alterations to their property but this would be subject to Victory approval and carried out at the cost of the tenant.

    When you move into your property the heating system will have been checked and serviced. We will write to you should your heating system be on a replacement programme.

  4. Can I have a shed?

    If you have your own garden, you can apply for permission to build a shed. You cannot have a shed in a communal garden.

  5. Can I have an adaptation removed from my home?

    Tenants may request permission to remove alterations from the property but this would need to be approved by Victory and done so at the cost of the tenant.

    No. The loft space is not to be used for storage as our contractors will need to access this area to carry out some repairs.

  7. Can you make adaptations to my home?

    We would only make major adaptations to your property if deemed necessary by an Occupational Therapist and approved by the local authority. We may be able to carry out minor adaptations to your home, for example, fitting grab rails.

  8. Do I need permission to put shingle in my garden?

    No, unless the purpose of the shingle is to make a driveway or parking area which will require permission.

  9. How do I check that a contractor is working for Victory?

    All Contractors should carry identification which can then be checked with our Customer Services Department.

  10. How do I report a repair?

    Emergency repairs can be reported to our Customer Service Team on 0330 123 1860. Our lines are open 24 hours. Non-Emergency repairs can be reported anytime on 0330 123 1860, by email at: repairs@victoryhousing.co.uk and using our online repairs form - https://www.victoryhousing.co.uk/report-a-repair.

  11. How do I request permission to carry out alterations or improvements to my property?

    A permissions request can be set up by our Customer Services Team on: 0330 123 1860 or by email at: info@victoryhousing.co.uk. This will then be reviewed and a formal approval or rejection will be issued by post.

    All habitable rooms will have at least one 13 amp socket.

  13. I have an issue with pests and/or vermin, can you help?

    Any issues with pests and/or vermin are the responsibility of the tenant. Victory do not offer a pest control service. Victory may assist with repairs of damage caused to your property as a result of pests and/or vermin, however, these would be completed once the pests and/or vermin have been dealt with.

  14. I have asbestos in my house, is it safe?

    You will not be at risk if products containing asbestos are undisturbed and undamaged. In good condition, asbestos is not a health hazard. But activities such as drilling or sanding should not be done since this may disturb and possibly release asbestos fibres into the air.

  15. What does an emergency repair include?

    A contractor will attend your property within 24 hours to make the property safe and carry out repairs wherever possible. Follow up repairs may be necessary.
