  1. Can I assign my tenancy to someone else?

    You can, but you will need to seek independent legal advice and apply for the re-assignment in writing. You will also need to be able to prove that the assignee has lived in the property for 1 year.

    Yes, but if you are moving away from Victory Housing Trust you will still be held responsible for the whole 28 days’ notice.

    We can arrange for you to have new window keys, however these costs will be chargeable to you.

  6. Can I keep a spare key once my tenancy has ended to collect my post?

    You cannot keep a spare key once you have given them in. All locks are changed when keys are handed back for security reasons.

  7. Can I keep pets in my home?

    Pets can be considered in some Victory properties however, this is subject to approval. If you wish to keep a pet in the property, please submit a pet permission request to our Customer Service Team.

  8. Can I take on a tenancy following a death of family member that I live with?

    You may be able to succeed the tenancy, you can only succeed if there hasn’t been a previous succession to the tenancy. You will also need to provide proof you have resided in the property for at least a year.

    Victory Housing Trust does not hold its’ own shortlists. If you are looking to apply for social housing you will need to talk to your local council or the council which controls the area you wish to move too.

  11. How do I apply for a mutual exchange?

    If you have found someone to swap with, all parties involved will need to send in a mutual exchange application form to Victory Housing Trust and the other housing associations involved.   12. How do I end my tenancy?

    You have to give written notice, and provide us with your forwarding address. Notice is 28 days from the nearest Sunday we receive the notice.

  13. How do I inform you of a death of a tenant?

    You will need to inform us of the death, and to give Notice we require signed Notice to Quit from the next of kin as well as a copy of the death certificate.

  15. I’m handing my keys in but I don’t have the fobs?

    If you do not give in your fob when handing in the keys because you have misplaced it you may be re-charged for the cost of providing another.

  16. I’ve been offered a Victory Housing property – what do I need to do?

    You need to wait until the Tenancy Management Officer who is allocating the property contacts you about signing up and receiving the keys. Alternatively if you have not viewed the property or spoken to the Tenancy Management Officer please call on 0330 123 1860 to arrange an appointment.
